Let's build a brighter
future for AAPls!

Thanks to donors like you...

APALF is able to train the generation of AAPI leaders. Your support enables us to engage the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in active civic participation by creating, supporting, building, and strengthening the local community infrastructure to help prepare and train qualified AAPI leaders for public service.

Your generous gift helps us...

  • ENCOURAGE AAPIs to be active leaders in their local communities and beyond.
  • EQUIP AAPI leaders with tools and skills to better serve their constituencies.
  • CONNECT API leaders from around the country including past and current elected and appointed officials.
  • SERVE the needs of our national AAPI community.

“I am honored and privileged to be among APALF’s alumni who have benefited from this amazing program. It has helped me and
so many others in successfully getting elected to the State Legislature.”

California Assemblymember

Garry Tan is the President and CEO of Y Combinator and a prominent Silicon Valley entrepreneur who co-founded Initialized Capital. Beyond his impact on the technology sector, Garry has emerged as a vocal advocate for the AAPI community, using his platform to demand greater safety, accountability, and representation in local government. His partnership with APALF reflects his personal commitment to empowering a new generation of “builders” who are ready to lead with courage and civic purpose.

The San Francisco Bay Area AAPI Leadership & Mentorship Program is a cornerstone initiative designed to recruit, train, and mentor emerging leaders for public service in the Bay Area. This highly selective program provides intensive training and executive mentorship to prepare AAPI candidates for meaningful civic engagement, ensuring that the Bay Area’s leadership is as diverse and dynamic as the community it serves.
